Female players included in web3 gaming industry.

Recent studies have shown that half of the players in the gaming industry worldwide are women. Also, the Entertainment Software Association found that 48% of gamers in the United States identify as female.

So, considering that, why not build more characters and features for women in the Web3 gaming sector?

The future looks PINK

Beryl Chavez Li, co-founder of Yield Guild Games stated that :

“Although statistics show that play-to-earn games appeal more to male users, we believe that more women will start to take an interest”

Fashion League, for example, is a free, play-to-earn mobile game that allows users to develop their own fashion empire. The game allows users to create virtual clothing lines that could eventually be sold as nonfungible tokens, or NFTs

In the future it looks like everything will be “gamified” so we can look at Web3 as a fun and safe environment for gamers to explore their digital identity.

Some games will first be accessible on mobile devices because women like to play games on mobile. The aesthetics of the games are naturally appealing to women. While some of them focus on model-like perfect silhouettes, other developers consider women are being represented in an unrealistic way so you will find games with characters that have stretch marks, cellulite and all the other things that make us human.

Still, we are very early and developers are currently focusing more on building out the ecosystem rather than inclusivity.
