Metaverse Playground - LEGO teams up with Epic Games 

We don’t know exactly what the metaverse will eventually look like, but we can say for sure that there will be more than one metaverse and all of them will be interconnected. And because we all have different needs and visions about the ideal world in which we will work and play, kids feel the same.

LEGO Group and Epic Games just announced their partnership for building a metaverse safe and fun for children. For the last 90 years, Lego Group entertained millions of children with their lego bricks, that even today are their main product.

In 2016, Lego Group developed in partnership with UNICEF the first fully live moderated social app for children having in mind safe digital play experiences for children. They intend to engage in the digital experience with the entire family so they can enjoy it together. 

Both companies agreed to follow the same principles during the creation of this project.

• Safeguard children’s privacy.

• Making the safety and wellbeing of the children a priority and protecting their rights.

• Giving adults and children tools that give them control over their digital experience.
